Re-useable Linens are GREEN!
How many times have you attended a school event or town picnic where the tables are covered with thin plastic cloths from the dollar store? When the event is over, everything ends up in the trash! Buying linen tablecloths is a much more economical and ecologically sound way to go. With a little TLC, our tablecloths can last for years and years. If you prefer, stick with white or ivory so that your cloths are easy to accessorize for different holidays or events. If the cloths are for a school or municipality, buy cloths in the school/town colors—then they can be used again and again. If you are lucky enough to have someone involved in your organization that will launder the cloths at home, you are ahead of the game. If not, one quick trip to the laundromat and you are all set for the next event.
The same goes for clubs and civic groups that rent the same linens, over and over again. The rule of thumb is that you can buy the cloth for the same price as you pay to rent it twice. So if you are renting 90" rounds in white every month, it’s time to invest in a tablecloth inventory. Get ready to save money and help the environment at the same time.
